The appearance of Jörg and Dragan, the most famous car dealers in Germany, marked the high point of the Amicom event this year in Leipzig. The RTL guys had the EMMA-stage rocking in hall 5, which the employees from the Funkwerk-Dabendorf stand were also lucky enough to witness. So Jörg and Dragan did not want to miss the chance, with lady luck in tow, to pick up a copy of Audio 2010 from Nadine Rossberg in person. Funkwerk donated its hands-free kit as a prize for the show program. Visitors to the fair had the chance in the Car Media installation garage to see for themselves how swiftly and easily the devices could be integrated into the vehicle. During the weekend alone, over 30,000 came to the Leipzig Exhibition Centre and gained insights into the latest in mobile consumer electronics.

The LTE development is currently being rolled out in Germany. LTE mainly supplies high speed Internet for desktop and laptop PCs, meaning broadband Internet will be available via LTE both at home or at work. To ensure those in the telecom trade can also exploit the potential of LTE network stationary operations, Funkwerk Dabendorf is set to offer further products to significantly expand the applicable scope for LTE contract services. Our new LTE 800 outside antenna, with gain of 8dBi, transmits radio signals swiftly and stably into the home, even when far from a radio mast. Accordingly, even without a DSL connection, this paves the way for all high bandwidth applications, not least because a strong LTE signal outside the home is not always a guarantee of good indoor reception. As reported in Die Welt, for many aged 18 to 25 nowadays, a car serves as no more than a status symbol. The newspaper quoted a study carried out by the Center of Automotive Management at the FHDW in Bergisch-Gladbach, which examined the attitude of young people towards cars. The result of the study "i-Car: Today, the top priority for young people is attractive networking of the vehicle. Moreover, 38 percent of those surveyed would also be prepared to pay extra for such services. The related requirements in terms of the extent of mobile integration are very high. How-ever, the young generation now also see docking and operating options for iPods or smart phones as almost a matter of course. Obviously, young people want to continue enjoying all the pleasures of these mobile end devices while driving.” Read more about the results here (Available in German only).

Nowadays, tradesmen rely on fast Internet wherever they are, whether an urban or rural location. Providing such customers with worthwhile and efficient solutions represents a great business opportunity. For an example of success, look no further than the specialist dealer CHD-Networks GmbH from Fürstenwalde. Commissioned by an oil company, managing director Norbert Grösch supplied 40 petrol stations nationwide with fast Internet. Many of the petrol stations were in rural areas, meaning a genuine fast connection was only possible when combining a directional an-tenna with the Home Compenser from Funkwerk Dabendorf. Thanks to this technique, they now enjoy download speeds of up to 5000kBit/s. Since the point of sale systems are also connected to the Internet, the new solution increases customer through-flow and hence turnover. Read the whole article here (Available in German only).
